My Christmas present to the R was a new set of Volvo rubber floor mats. Though I prefer the look of the carpet mats, life in the northwest makes the rubber mats a much better choice, if not a necessity.

Installation could not be easier of course. The only complication is that the rubber mats use a different retainer than the original carpet ones, so I had to put that under the carpet on the drivers side. Have not done the passenger side yet since there are no existing holes in the carpet. Will see how much it moves around and maybe install it later.
In addition I lucked into a 99 v70R in the junkyard and was able to steal its leather shifter to replace the damaged one that came on my R. It isn’t correct of course, but it looks so much better than either the flaking leather or the stock black plastic shifter. It will work for now until I find a correct one or do a manual conversion.
